Every four years, or when necessary, the federal council of Switzerland is reelected. The process is absolutely fascinating and a detailed description of the rules can be found here. What happens on the very day of the election is also worthwhile seeing. Politicians - the candidates - are obviously at the heart of the matter, but the journalists who make up the news are a key element, thought on which obviously lights are not necessarily turned on.
On September 22, 2010 I was very lucky to be there and by chance had my camera with me and I decided to take a few snapshots of the entire "circus". Not many people are allowed in the building during that day but I was very lucky to be able to obtain a pass.
